Since founding, TED and TEDx Talks have spread around the our planet with over 10 billion views. We were one of the pioneering first 30 TEDx licensees when it launched in March 2009. Since then, we have curated and platformed >200 TEDx and TED speakers and performers, from age 5 to 113 with >6 million views. Over a dozen of our TEDx speakers have also spoken at TED itself.
With TEDxPoweSt ARISE 2025, we are now seeking who will inform, inspire, surprise, or delight.
Our curatorial focus is on platforming Chinese diaspora (Chinese- Australians and overseas Chinese living outside mainland China); and any speaker who have an idea/perspective/topic/work specifically related to Chinese diaspora and Chinese Australians.
We look for thinkers or doers, or both. They could be performers in the arts, have important life insights to share. They could have a new way of looking at things or done something that made a difference. We invite speakers to "Give the talk or performance of their lives" in 18 mins or less.
Our curatorial team reviews ALL proposals and get back to those who have a suitable fit. The, we closely work with speakers 4-6 months in advance to help shape and deliver their talk/performance that will be impactful and be fulfilling.
If you know someone who belongs on our roster, or if you belong there yourself, we want to hear from you! Tell us why this person would be a great fit for our TEDx stage in our nomination form below.
FAQs

How do I suggest a speaker? Use our speaker nomination form, and fill in as much information as you can. This form goes directly to our speaker selection team.
Can I suggest someone I don't know personally? You ask for their email address, and I don't know it. Please do! Just let us know how you've heard about this person, and why you think they should speak at our TEDx
Can I suggest someone I work for, or a client of mine? Yes.
Can I suggest myself as a speaker? Yes.
Can I speak by becoming a sponsor? No. Sponsoring TEDx has many benefits, but a guaranteed speaking slot is not one of them.
Will it help if I submit multiple nominations, or have my friends nominate me several times? No. It really only takes one suggestion.
Is there a deadline for suggesting a speaker? We accept nominations all the time. It's best to get your suggestions to us as early as possible, so we can research them carefully and make the best decision on the speaker roster.
I want to speak, but my usual talk runs 50 minutes. Can I get a longer slot? We strictly enforce the clock for all speakers and performers. TED is the place to condense your ideas into a compelling talk or performance of less than 18-minute that communicates your best ideas. We've found that a carefully prepared presentation of this length can have powerful impact.
Do you have keynotes or panels? At TED and TEDx, everyone hears every presentation; there are no breakout sessions or tracks, no keynotes.
What do you pay speakers? TED and TEDx do not pay speakers. Most speakers stay for the whole conference, soaking up the talks and connecting with other attendees. Other benefits include pre-conference coaching and training, special events for networking. We are dedicated to creating an experience that's tremendously fulfilling and beneficial on all sides.
An additional benefit of speaking at TEDx is that your presentation may become a main TED.com Talk, part of beautifully produced, broadcast-quality video series.
